Diversity consultant and trainer
Katherine Cowan is a freelance consultant and trainer with significant experience in the development and application of policy and good practice. Katherine's areas of expertise include equality and diversity, the workplace and social exclusion and she works with clients from across the private, public and voluntary sectors.
Katherine has experience in and sound understanding of the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda and is particularly conversant in the business case for equality, as well as the human rights case. She has conducted equality impact assessments and audits for a range of organisations, and has carried out issue-based research into the experiences and expectations of a range of different minority communities.
She has delivered equalities training, workshops and awareness raising to a variety of audiences, including employees, managers, HR professionals, military personnel, service users and students.
Katherine is passionate about social justice and is motivated by the challenges presented by inequality. She firmly believes in enabling outcomes which are practical, achievable and which make a real difference to people's everyday lives.
